FCH Hires New Health Information Management and Business Office Manager

Sheri Hopkins has been appointed as the new Health Information Manager and Business Office Manager for Fayette County Hospital and Long Term Care. In her position, she will report to Greg Starnes, the CEO. Her duties within her position include overseeing the revenue cycle, managing the health information department, credentialing medical staff services, being a corporate compliance officer, and serving as the HIPAA officer.

Ms. Hopkins is originally from Salem, IL, and she still lives there currently. For her education, she received her B.S. in Health Management, she is a Registered Health Information Technician, and she is a Certified Professional of Healthcare Quality. She has had experience in Health Information Management, Risk Management, Quality Improvement & Patient Safety, Compliance, and Case Management at Salem Hospital for 34 years. Before coming to work at Fayette County Hospital full time, Ms. Hopkins had worked as a consultant for the hospital for the last eight months. The CEO, Greg Starnes, has stated, "Sheri was doing such an outstanding job managing our HIM department part-time. I was extremely pleased when she agreed to join us full time in order to also manage our Business Office."

Ms. Sheri Hopkins, and her husband have two children, a son and a daughter. Their son is a minister in Northwest Illinois, and their daughter is in college for nursing. The family enjoys traveling, vacationing, swimming, and spending time with each other. She specifically loves spending time with her two-year old grandson.
