Message from the CEO:
Friends, Families, and Neighbors:
As we know, the only thing constant is change. At Fayette County Hospital and Long Term Care we are in the midst of transformation in ways that are designed to improve the health services you, at times, require. On behalf of the wonderful staff at Fayette County Hospital, we are evolving to better meet your needs.
The Fayette County Hospital District Board is focused on making improvements in the facilities based upon a thorough facilities needs assessment that has been conducted. There will be much attention to upgrading the infrastructure of the buildings, refurbishing patient rooms, and proper location of services offered in order to provide the highest quality care in an efficient manner.
In partnership with our physicians we have a strategic plan for making this hospital the best it can be. There are 6 major areas of focus in our plan that we intend to follow closely in order to improve our services. They are as follows.
- Patient Satisfaction – we conduct patient satisfaction surveys looking for feedback about ways we can improve care. We hope you do not need our services. However, if you do, we hope that if you receive a survey, you will take a few moments to complete and submit it to let us know how we are doing.
- Employee Satisfaction - we value each other and our commitment to what we do here. This is OUR hospital collectively. It is OUR community’s hospital. A happy workforce is one that cares and works well. And, that means professional and personal care for those who entrust their healthcare needs to us.
- Physician Development – our physicians are our partners. We strive to work closely together in order to optimize the care of each person we serve. We are also recruiting additional physicians to join us, including primary care physicians as well as additional specialists to conduct clinics in our specialty clinic on second floor.
- Financial Strength – it is imperative that we are financially viable so that we can offer competitive wages and benefits to our staff and so we can purchase new equipment to replace old or to add new technologies that will enhance our services.
- Quality/Patient Safety – we will carefully monitor the quality of the services we offer and compare our results to state and national averages, and we will strive to improve in all areas regardless of those comparisons. Additionally, we will do all we can to ensure the safety and welfare of each patient and will constantly monitor ourselves.
- Information Technology – we are embarking upon a well-defined information system designed to allow the processing and sharing of important patient medical history and test results electronically among caregivers, physicians’ offices and even other hospitals (while protecting patient privacy) in order to provide the most efficient and best health care services possible – giving you peace of mind.
On behalf of the more than 300 team members of Fayette County Hospital and Long Term Care, our medical staff and our volunteers, we want to be your hospital of choice. As your friends and neighbors, we offer Professional Care with a Personal Touch, and we wish you good health.
Very Best Regards, Greg Starnes
